Our next meeting will take place on June 20, 2023 and will be available for viewing in person and on Zoom.

David Collis will cover the basics of resin pours from art to deep pours and the challenges with each. The conversation will mostly focus on a medium pour such as charcuterie boards because that seems to be where everyone’s interest is right now.

Biography

David started woodworking at an early age in rural NorthWest Ohio, and then received a Bachelor’s from the Ohio State University, and a MBA from Seattle University of Washington. He completed a Navy career that spanned more than 20 years, in which he lived in three different countries and seven states, while also working in 18 different countries. During that time his woodworking was limited to small hand tools and things that traveled well internationally. He transitioned (retired) from the Navy in Northern Virginia, where he has been able to focus on woodworking with equipment bigger than hand tools.

Approximately eight years ago after retiring from the Navy , David expanded his woodworking to include resin. He is currently teaching resin charcuterie board classes at WoodCraft of D.C. in Springfield, VA.
