WWG Founded in 1980
Since its founding in 1980, the Washington Woodworkers Guild’s (WWG) primary goal has been the education of its members in all aspects of woodworking and the promotion of interest in woodworking within the Washington Capital area.
Efforts toward this goal have taken various forms: demonstrations at monthly meetings; technical seminars by nationally known experts; exhibitions of members’ work; our Zoom archive of meetings; book, wood and tool purchasing programs; and the publication of a quarterly newsletter – The Wooden Word.
The WWG is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and sharing of woodworking knowledge among ourselves and our community.
Our Guild enjoys a diverse range of woodworking experience, and we always welcome new members. We offer beginners a friendly, safe environment to ask questions and learn; and for the more experienced woodworker, we offer opportunities to share your knowledge with fellow woodworkers and your community.
We are interested in both machine and handtool woodworking, and appreciate the beauty of grain. Meetings are currently being held via Zoom and in person on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
