Join the Washington Woodworkers Guild

Washington Woodworkers Guild members have a deep appreciation for woodworking, and love to meet others with the same penchant for making things.

Aside from the camaraderie we enjoy, there are many other benefits of WWG membership.

Woodworking Presentations

Please join us for monthly presentations by guest woodworkers from the woodworking community as well as Guild members.

These presentations commonly deal with skills and techniques, and may take the form of hands-on learning events for the members.

May 2024 Meeting

Sharing information and knowledge is one of the unique features of the Guild. Our May 21st meeting is devoted to seeing what others of us have been working on … and we want to see your work!  It’s Show and Tell time!

Notify Charles Anderson if you’d like to share what you are doing. Let him know your topic and the estimated time you think you need so we can get a sense for how many presentations we will have and apportion the time accordingly.

Please don’t feel restricted to showing only things that you currently have in-progress. We would love to see your past projects as well!

The meeting/presentations will be help in person at the VFW in Falls Church or online via Zoom.

Latest Guild News

Welcome to the Washington Woodworkers Guild, the premiere woodworking organization serving Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. We’re glad that you found our woodworking club!

From beginner to advanced craftsman, guild members understand the pleasure and joy of working with wood. Our members create cabinets, tables, boxes, bowls, chairs, beds, chests, pens, toys, etc. for friends and family. Some members exhibit and sell their work. We are dedicated to advancing the understanding of tools, equipment, processes, and procedures used to create your masterpiece. This web site is intended to introduce you to our Guild, provide related links, and dispense information on membership.

Our Guild Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month and consist of a short business segment, a show and tell of our work, a time for socializing and networking, and a monthly presentation by guest woodworkers from the woodworking community as well as members. These presentations commonly deal with skills and techniques, and may take the form of hands-on learning events for the members. Prospective members are encouraged to attend a meeting in advance of joining to see if the Guild is a fit for them. We hope that you will attend one of these meetings, and subsequently Join the Guild.  Dues are only $30 for a 12-month membership.

We also offer Equipment and Tool Valuation services.

If you are a member, please log in for access to all the online resources (Zoom presentations, etc).

We are a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and sharing of woodworking knowledge among ourselves and our community.

Tool Evaluation Services

Have you lost a loved one who left you with a collection of woodworking equipment and tools you cannot use?   The WWG can help.

We recommend a woodworking equipment and tool evaluation. This process involves having one or more members of our Guild look at your equipment/tools (power and/or hand), and recommend how best to sell it. We have assisted numerous families over the past years to successfully sell the woodworking equipment/tools left behind by their loved ones.
